The brief
Family portraits are personal and image heavy. Sue needed one place where families could book a session, pay a deposit, choose their favourite photos and collect the finished gallery, without her chasing emails.
What I built
- A custom theme with a warm, photography-led front end
- Online booking with deposit payments, tied to each order
- Private proofing galleries and a client account area
- A studio dashboard that replaces the WordPress admin for day-to-day work
- Around 18,000 lines of custom PHP and JavaScript

Book
The family picks a session and pays a deposit online.
Gallery goes up
Sue publishes a private gallery for that family.

They tap hearts on favourites and submit their selection.

Paying unlocks the downloads automatically.
Booking with deposits
Families book a session and pay a deposit online. A live availability calendar, and custom code turns each booking into a deposit order, with coupon support.
Private proofing galleries
Each family gets a private gallery. They tap hearts on their favourites and submit the selection when ready. Photos load from fast cloud storage, so large galleries stay quick.
A studio dashboard for Sue
Accounts, galleries, orders and access codes live in one dashboard, so Sue runs the business without touching WordPress admin screens.
Payment-gated delivery
When the balance order is paid, the gallery flips to paid and downloads unlock on their own. A refund raises a flag for Sue to review, so nothing is revoked by accident.
